A introduced RCBO model provides comprehensive electrical safety by disconnecting both live and neutral wires during faults. It is designed for homes, offices, and industrial buildings to prevent electric shocks and fires.

A significant advancement in electrical safety has arrived with the launch of the JCB2LE-80M, a two-pole RCBO (Residual Current Circuit Breaker with Overload Protection). This innovative device is engineered to offer a higher level of protection for both people and property, moving beyond the capabilities of traditional circuit breakers.

The core feature of this new RCBO is its ability to provide complete isolation of a faulty circuit. Unlike some older models that might only interrupt the live wire, the JCB2LE-80M automatically switches off both the live and neutral conductors. This dual-pole switching is a critical safety function. It ensures that a circuit is entirely dead during a fault, maintenance, or inspection, significantly reducing the risk of electric shock for technicians and homeowners. This is particularly vital in situations where a fault could potentially energize the neutral wire.

This comprehensive protection covers several types of electrical hazards. The device guards against earth leakage, which can cause harmful electric shocks, and also provides standard overload and short-circuit protection to prevent damage to appliances and wiring that could lead to fires. With a high breaking capacity of 6kA—and options to upgrade to 10kA for certain models—it can reliably handle powerful electrical surges.

Flexibility is another key benefit. The RCBO is available in a wide range of configurations to suit various needs. Electricians can select from different rated currents (from 6A to 63A), tripping sensitivities (30mA for personal protection, 100mA or 300mA for fire prevention), and tripping curves (B or C) tailored to the type of connected equipment. Furthermore, it is available in both Type A and Type AC, making it compatible with a broader range of modern electrical devices, including those with electronic components that can cause smooth DC residual currents.

For electrical contractors, this device promises to streamline installations. The built-in switched neutral can reduce testing and commissioning time, making projects more efficient. Its design allows for top or bottom connection, offering greater versatility in how distribution boards are wired.

Suitable for everything from residential houses and high-rise apartments to commercial and industrial buildings, the JCB2LE-80M represents a move towards more robust and foolproof electrical safety standards. By ensuring a faulty circuit is completely disconnected from the power supply, it provides peace of mind that the electrical systems in our homes and workplaces are safer than ever before.
