JCRD2-125 launches a line of electromagnetic residual current devices (RCDs). Offering superior earth leakage protection with high breaking capacity, they are designed for a wide range of applications from industrial use to residential safety.

In a significant boost for electrical safety standards, the JCRD2-125 series of Residual Current Devices (RCDs) has been launched, offering robust protection for a diverse array of settings. These devices are engineered to prevent electric shock and fire risks by instantly cutting off power when they detect a dangerous leakage of current to earth.

A key feature of the JCRD2-125 RCD is its electromagnetic operation. Unlike electronic models that rely on external power, these units function independently of the mains voltage, ensuring they remain operational even in fault conditions like a neutral wire failure. This provides a critical layer of reliability that safety-conscious engineers and electricians actively seek.

The product line is notably versatile. Available in both 2-pole and 4-pole configurations, the devices can be specified with rated currents from 25 Amps up to 100 Amps, making them suitable for everything from individual circuit protection to serving as a main switch in a consumer unit. Furthermore, installers can select from three tripping sensitivities—30mA for personal protection against electric shock, or 100mA and 300mA for enhanced fire prevention where higher leakage currents might be expected.

Flexibility in application is a cornerstone of the design. The JCRD2-125 RCDs are available in both Type AC and the more advanced Type A, which can detect pulsating DC fault currents commonly produced by modern electronics like variable-speed drives and LED lighting. With options for a 6kA breaking capacity, these devices are built to safely interrupt even severe short-circuit currents.

Additional practical features include a clear contact position indicator for easy visual confirmation of the switch status and the convenience of top or bottom cable entry, which simplifies installation in crowded distribution boards. The manufacturer recommends a tightening torque of 2.5 N.m for secure and reliable terminations.

Fully compliant with the international safety standard IEC 61008-1, the JCRD2-125 series is positioned as a trustworthy solution for upgrading electrical safety in industrial plants, commercial complexes, high-rise buildings, and private residences. This launch represents a commitment to providing the market with accessible, high-performance safety components that protect both people and property from electrical hazards.

By combining essential safety features with installer-friendly design, the JCRD2-125 RCDs are poised to become a fundamental component in modern electrical installations worldwide.
